Fine Food New Zealand & Gourmet Pacific Challenge 2010

NZ Chefs Association Signs Agreement

The National Executive is pleased to advise that the New Zealand Chefs Association has signed a six year agreement with North Port Events to run the Culinary Theatre at the First International Food, Drink and Equipment Exhibition – Fine Food New Zealand.

Fine Food New Zealand will take place at the ASB Show grounds, Greenlane, Auckland 13 - 15 June 2010

The Associations Culinary Theatre will feature the ‘Gourmet Pacific Challenge 2010’.  This will be an international culinary competition for ‘Trainee Chefs’ between Australia and New Zealand – the Bedisloe of cooking competitions.

We have created a new Logo for the competition and will be striking new medals featuring our Pohutukawa Knife Flower.

We are still in the infancy stage of planning and organisational aspect of the event, and have a small team focused on setting up the Gourmet Pacific Challenge, lead by Murray Dick (Previously the WACS 2006 Congress Director), with the assistance in the competition side of the event – Gary Miller the Vice President of the Association & NZ Culinary Team Business Manager, plus a few other volunteers.

We are happy to have additional help, if you are willing to assist please contact the National Office on 0800 692 433.

In time you will be hearing more about the events Fine Food NEw Zealand and the Gourmet Pacific Challenge, in Plate, here on the NZ Chefs Association Website and at local branch meetings.
