New Zealand Chefs Scoop Gold and Trophy at inaugural Pacific Culinary Challenge.
Well Done

New Zealand Chefs’ Cameron Lawless and Sarah Primrose have bagged swag of gold medals and silverware at the inaugural Pacific Culinary Challenge held in Vanuatu from Nov 10th – 13th.
Competing against other teams from Australia, Papa New Guinea and host country Vanuatu, between them they collected 7 gold and a silver medal which was enough for them to take out the inaugural trophy.
During the four days of competition they had to compete in a number of individual events where their scores were collated together and then the final competition was a mystery box cook off team event where they were given suckling pig and fruit bat as their main proteins that they had to use to design, cook and serve a three course meal.
Both chefs are accomplished culinary competitors, chef Lawless is Vice-Capt of the New Zealand Culinary Team, who at the beginning of the year competed in and won the Welsh International Culinary Championships in Wales. Cameron said “this is a pleasing result and a great way to end a year that has been full of highs for New Zealand’s international culinary competitors”. “With Joseph Clarke from Blanket Bay competing in the World Junior Chefs Challenge in Santiago, Chile in January and then the culinary team competing at the FHA Culinary Challenge in Singapore in April, these results will give us that added focus and determination to continue New Zealand’s winning ways”.
