About Markovina Vineyard Estate
We are a family owned and operated wedding and events venue located in Kumeu, Auckland. We are one of Auckland’s premium venues with weddings and events running all year round, with the ability to hold weddings and events between 20 and 300 people. We hold a variety of events with a large focus on creating magical memories for our couples, and we pride ourselves on providing exceptional service, great food and ensure that every day is as special to us as it is to our couples and clients.
About the Role
The role is in our Kitchen, we are looking for someone hard working and experience working in a commercial kitchen. You might be just starting your career and looking to learn or very experienced and looking for a change.
The role includes evenings and weekends, with training provided. You will be working with our Head Chef assisting.

Key responsibilities include:
• Ability to multitask, show flexibility and meet deadlines
• Excellent planning & organising skills and an ability to work individually
• Assisting with preparation and service at our weddings & events.

The food served at Markovina Estate
All our events are pre-booked with menus decided prior to the event. The types of food we serve are:
• Buffet menu
• Sharing platters menu
• Set plated menu
• Nibbles / tapas menu

Qualifications & requirements
• Previous kitchen experience
• Proven ability to work well with others
• Ability to work well under pressure with effective time management
• A commitment to high personal and professional standard
• A full New Zealand Driver’s License and own transport, as public transport is limited

As a Chef with Markovina Estate you will be helping to create an amazing experience for our clients through their food experience.
More specifically you will be:
• You will be working in a kitchen usually of two up to five staff
• Work hours vary depending on events but usual work times are from 9am to 10pm. Your work will be to a roster organised by our head chef.
• Assist with preparation of food items for the selected menu on the day
• Assist with service delivery of the meal
• Ensure consistency in quality of dishes at all times
• Assist our head chef and manage customer relations when necessary
• Ensure compliance with food hygiene and health & safety standards

The position is located at 84 Old Railway Road, Kumeu, Auckland.
