Sous Chef - Massey University

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Sous Chef to work at our university site Massey University in Albany, Auckland.

We have Fixed Term and Full-Time options available. You will be rostered across Monday to Sunday (during education term only).

In this position you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef with the daily operation of the Kitchen and preparing, cooking and presenting food ensuring the quality of every dish we serve! We provide services like short order, buffet service and functions catering for the site.

You will need to be able to cook within budget, bulk cooking, assist with ordering, menu planning, maintain Safe Food practices, as well as ensure the Health & Wellbeing of our customers through allergen and nutrition management.
If you’re our perfect candidate you will be hard working and be flexible to work in all sections of the kitchen. You will already have at least 4 years’ proven work experience in a kitchen environment. You will have a confident and creative cooking style with a strong emphasis on quality and presentation and be a great communicator.

You will be able to juggle multiple demands within a challenging environment but, most importantly you will demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality.

Pay Rate: $22 per hour
