We are seeking passionate, experienced, well presented, reliable professionals with excellent communication skills to fill these long term positions as we are expanding the lodge! We have an experienced team in the kitchen.


For the Junior Sous Chef, we're looking for a professional who is looking to take the next step in their career. You must be willing to learn and be guest focused with a passion for wanting to provide great service and a high standard of product. You will be able to follow direction and to work unsupervised and demonstrate good listening skills, and will need to be flexible with rosters as well. You must be able to follow written and verbal instructions. You will be working with high end ingredients, and you must be a team player. This is a unique and challenging role, where your creativity and ability is actively encouraged to develop your skills further, creating memorable experiences for our discerning international clientele. If you're confident and want to learn more, this is your next step! A background in Relais & Châteaux, Michelin Star or hatted restaurants (NZ or Australia) is an advantage but not necessary.


For the Commis Chef role, we're looking for a professional who is looking to take their first or second step in their career. You must be willing to learn. You will be willing to follow direction and must demonstrate and implement good listening skills, and will need to be flexible with rosters as well. You must be able to follow written and verbal instructions. You will be working with high end ingredients, and you must be a team player. This is a unique and challenging role, where your creativity and ability is actively encouraged to develop your skills further, creating memorable experiences for our discerning international clientele. This is a very exciting opportunity to be working alongside a group of professional Chefs with a combined well developed skill set.


This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an internationally recognised award winning luxury lodge (Current 2017 World Luxury Restaurant Awards Winner for New Zealand) that is situated beside a UNESCO World Heritage site.

We have Staff accommodation subject to availability in Glenorchy. Glenorchy is in a remote location, 40 minutes drive from Queenstown. Your own transport (such as a car or motorbike) is a necessity.

Applicants unless New Zealand Citizens or Residents will need to have a current valid NZ working visa to be considered.
